🎶🦞
Poole’s historic harbour is about to get loud, lively, and oh-so-tasty as Seafood & Sounds returns for its third year on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2025. Think fresh seafood sizzling on the quay, live music floating through the streets, and a whole lot of community spirit – all rolled into one unmissable festival.
💃 Powered by Five Fabulous Women
This isn’t just any festival – it’s the brainchild of five amazing local businesswomen who decided Poole deserved something special. When a couple of popular local events disappeared, they didn’t just shrug – they created a whole new celebration of food and music.
Meet the dream team:
-
Jeanette – Truly Scrumptious
-
Michelle – The Poole Arms
-
Helen – Coastal Cruises
-
Nikki – The Customs House
-
Severine – St Tropez Lounge & Club
Together, they’ve poured their passion, energy, and love for Poole into making Seafood & Sounds one of the highlights of the year.
The ladies at the 2025 launch said: “Organising an event of this scale involves significant costs, and we are grateful for the unwavering support from our local business community.”
🥂 A Weekend to Savour
So, what’s in store this September? A little bit of everything!
-
🎭 Seafood-themed parade – It all kicks off at 11 a.m. from the Slug & Lettuce, finishing at Oriels, with kids’ fancy dress competitions and entertainment along the quay.
-
🎵 40 live performances – From folk and jazz to sea shanties and acoustic vibes, enjoy 24 different acts across six stages including The Fish Shambles, Poole Arms, Customs House, Poole Museum, and this year’s new addition – Music at St James Church.
-
🎶 Evening fun – As the sun goes down, the music keeps flowing at venues like The Angel, Drift Bar, Hotel Du Vin, The Lord Nelson, and Blue Boar – all serving up special festival menus featuring seafood pies, chowders, pizzas, and platters.
🛍️ Not Just Music & Food
Seafood & Sounds is more than just tunes and tasty plates – here’s what else you’ll find:
-
🛒 Artisan Market at Scaplen’s Court (11 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily) with local crafts and produce.
-
🐟 Fresh fish stalls right on Poole Quay – new for 2025!
-
🦪 Oyster Trail for families – hunt down oyster shell clues in shop windows, spell out the secret phrase, and be in with a chance of winning prizes.
🤝 Community Spirit at its Heart
This festival wouldn’t happen without Poole’s amazing community backing it all the way. The Dolphin is this year’s main sponsor, with support from Poole BID, Poole Harbour Commissioners, Brown Booth, ACO Security, Oriels, Hotel Du Vin, Poole Rotary, and many more.
And it’s not just about having fun – it’s about giving back. In 2025, Forest Holme Hospice is the official charity, with proceeds from the Grand Raffle supporting both the hospice and next year’s festival.
