When you step onboard, the first thing you notice is the welcome.

A friendly face at the gangway. A smile behind the bar. Someone helping you find your seat, answering a question, or pointing out something on the horizon you might have missed.

It feels effortless.

But the truth is, what you see is just the surface of what our onboard crew really do.

More Than Just a Warm Welcome

On any given sailing, our crew are constantly on the move.

They’re stocking and serving behind the bar, making sure everything is ready before the first guest even steps onboard. They’re setting up for private charters and events—laying out tables, preparing spaces, adjusting layouts depending on the occasion.

They’re the ones welcoming you onboard, checking tickets, helping with accessibility, answering questions, and making sure everyone feels comfortable from the moment they arrive.

And in between all of that?

They’re cleaning.

Relentlessly.

Because a great experience doesn’t just come from what you do onboard—it comes from how the space feels. Every surface, every seat, every window matters. And our crew take real pride in making sure the boat always looks its best.

The Part You Don’t See

What most people don’t realise is that every member of our onboard team is a trained seafarer.

That friendly person serving your drink?

They’re trained in firefighting.

The one helping you onboard?

They know exactly what to do in a man overboard situation.

The crew chatting with you about the coastline?

They’re qualified in first aid and emergency response.

And it doesn’t stop there.

They need to understand the vessel inside and out—every system, every alarm, every pump. They train for situations they hope will never happen, running drills, refreshing skills, and staying sharp.

Because safety at sea isn’t something you learn once.

It’s something you practise again and again.

So while you might see them smiling and welcoming you onboard today, just a few days ago they were likely deep in training—rehearsing scenarios, running drills, and making sure they’re ready for anything.

Then Comes Winter…

When the summer season winds down and the boats fall quiet, the work doesn’t stop.

In many ways, it ramps up.

Boats come out of the water for dry dock, and the crew roll up their sleeves for a different kind of job. Painting. Repairing. Replacing fixtures and fittings. Preparing every inch of the vessel for the season ahead.

It’s hands-on, physical work—and it’s all about making sure that when next summer arrives, everything is ready to go again.

Fresh. Safe. Looking its best.

A Full Circle

So yes—our crew will welcome you with a smile.

They’ll serve your drinks, help you settle in, and make sure you have a great time.

But behind that is a team of skilled, trained, hardworking professionals who take pride in every part of what they do—from customer service to safety drills, from polishing surfaces to preparing the vessel in the depths of winter.

It’s a cycle that never really stops.

And it’s all done for one simple reason:

So that every time you step onboard, it feels easy, enjoyable… and just a little bit special.
