We are looking for a skilled and personable Captain to join our team, ensuring safe navigation of our vessels while also delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and navigate passenger vessels in Poole Harbour, along the Dorset coastline, and on longer charter trips.
  • Take overall responsibility for the safety of passengers, crew, and vessel at all times.
  • Conduct pre-departure checks, safety briefings, and ensure compliance with MCA regulations.
  • Lead, support, and motivate the crew to maintain excellent standards of service, presentation, and safety.
  • Provide commentary (where required) with confidence, knowledge, and enthusiasm.
  • Maintain accurate records, including logs, fuel use, and voyage reports.

Skills & Experience

  • Valid Boatmaster’s Licence (appropriate to vessel size and operations).
  • Strong knowledge of maritime safety procedures and navigation.
  • Previous experience as Captain of passenger vessels preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Friendly, approachable, and guest-focused.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, safe decisions.
